Good hardback 1st edition. 1910 1st edition; written under a pseudonym by Mrs Mary Harrison who, according to a note on the front free endpaper was the daughter of Charles Kingsley. Six colour illustrations present; although not listed, this agrees with British Library copy; annotation on front free endpaper gives illustrator as C.E. Brock. Bound in green cloth with black lettering to front and gilt lettering to spine; binding a little fragile; small tear in cloth at top of spine/front cover; spine browned and bottom corner of back cover discoloured by water stain. Internally, pages yellowed with scattered foxing, especially to outer pages; some quite large patches of discolouration; presentation inscription on front free endpaper. A good, readable copy.
