Description: Chatto and Windus, 1899. Used - Very Good. VG SIGNED hardbacks in green cloth . 23 volumes. Set no. 226/620, with limitation signed "Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain)" in volume I. Letter from publishers tipped into vol. I, regarding the background to the set, published 1899-1903. Despite the publisher's note, there is evidence that a further two volumes were added in the period 1903-1907, making a total of 25 in the set. Green buckram. Spines and title labels slightly browned, with some light scattered foxing (mainly on untrimmed fore-edge) and lightly browned endpapers. A couple of volumes have small patches of colour loss.
