Main volume in orginal brown cloth; supplement (1879) in grey cloth, both with elaborated gilt & black design on front board. Main volume lacks front free end paper & frontis; board corners a little worn, with small dent in edge of back board; supplement in original pale grey cloth, now very discoloured, dirty & worn; wear to board corners & spine.
