In a handsome binding of blue leather, gilt lettered at the spine, with marbled paper sides and new endpapers. With a portrait frontispiece and various engraved decorations. A small nick to the backstrip leather, and just a trace of very light wear to the corner tips. Some occasional soiling and (mostly) marginal marking, and a short tear to the base of six or seven text leaves. Very good. The Suffolk labouring class poet's second book: an introductory verse followed by eighteen poems most of which were composed in the two year period between the completion and publication of his celebrated debut 'The Farmer's Boy' (1800). Very Good.
