Description: 0. No Binding. Scrapbook, Oak Grove Campus, Flint, Michigan --Helen Brown's 1949 Tree Herbarium School Project with (64) specimens-- Signed "Helen Brown Lab D", on front pastedown. This herbarium was thoughtfully produced-- 22 pages of neatly hand-written 'characteristics', + an index to the specimens. Each page has a single specimen mounted on one side only with cellophane tape. She records each specimen with its scientific name, common name, and a bottom page number. One specimen is labeled "Oak Grove Campus / Flint / Oct. 1949," thus locating this collection in time and place. The cellophane tape is mostly unobtrusive, but some of the evergreen specimens are heavily taped down. Two evergreen specimens lack some needles. The album is housed in a custom-made box, and is intentionally disbound for simpler handling. Overall, in excellent condition. Very Good.
