Eight large octavo volumes (9 3/8 x 6 1/8 inches; 238 x 156 mm.). Photogravure frontispieces and plates. Original beige buckram, covers decoratively stamped in blind, spines with black leather label lettered in gilt. A very fine set, partially uncut, in the original glassine and cardboard slipcases. The Hampstead Edition is often regarded as the finest collected edition of Keats's works. it is renowned for its comprehensive compilation of Keats's literary contributions. Edited by H. Buxton Forman, with revisions and additions by Maurice Buxton Forman, it features an introduction by poet laureate John Masefield. The edition's name pays homage to Keats's residence in Hampstead, London, from December 1818 to August 1820. During this period, he composed several of his most celebrated poems, including "Ode to a Nightingale" and "La Belle Dame sans Merci".
