A near fine example of this rare and fine series on Swedish costume. Carl Wilhelm Svedman (1762-1840) was a Swedish painter and student of the Stockholm Academy. His work primarily focused on biblical subjects and scenes inspired by the history of Sweden. (Benezit). Denis Dighton (1792-1827) was the son of the caricaturist Robert Dighton and a younger brother was Richard Dighton.
