Hardcover, bound in blue cloth titled in gilt on the front cover. The covers are rubbed & bumped with wear to the corners and head & tail of the spine. [4] & pages 5-83, profusely illustrated in black and white including numerous portraits. The top edges of the pages are lightly darkened at the corners. Good. RARE First edition. WorldCat locates only one copy. Inscribed by Robert W. Patterson on the first blank leaf, "Compliments / Robt W. Patterson, / La Junta, Colo. / Representative of Otero County". Also with his engraved business card mounted on the front pastedown. Patterson, a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, headed west to "rough it" as a cowboy. He then studied law and became the president of the First National Bank of La Junta. He was elected to the state house on the Silver Republican ticket. Good .
