Fine. - An original 5-1/2 inch wide by 4-3/8 inch wide greeting card on heavy stock illustrated with a 4-1/4 inch high by 3-1/8 inch wide engraving by "HC" titled "Season's Greetings". The image boldly depicts the formally attired Wulff riding a white horse posing with raised front legs. Titled at the top of the image with Edward Wullf's name engraved at the bottom. Fine. Born in Utrech, Netherlands, Eduard [Edward] Wulff (1851-1915) was a popular circus promoter whose equestrian shows, often featuring 60 horses performing in the arena at one time, toured throughout Europe. His circus, founded in Budapest, was popular at first but went bankrupt in 1906. He subsequently worked for A. Schumans equestrian circus and appeared in the United States with the Ringling Brothers circus in 1909. The greeting card with his name spelled "Edward Wulff" probably dates from his time performing in the U.S. Fine .
