Very good. - A 6 inch high by 8 inch wide broadside printed on light blue stock with banner title in large print across two lines at top, 33 lines of text under a wavy line, and copyright information under feather-line rule at bottom. The bottom edge was unevenly cut and there is a small stain to the lower left corner. There are also a couple of tiny spots of foxing along the right edge. Very good. An appendix to the directions for the use of Dr. Fontaine's Electro-Galvanic Conductors. The descriptive text begins: "Since the annexed Directions for the use of Dr. Fontaine's Elastic and Flexible Electro-Galvanic Conductors were in type, we have discovered in them the following essential omission. There are many invalids who are beyond the reach of the invaluable benefits which they might derive form the use of our Conductors; hence they are at a loss what to do. Others refuse to purchase them, as an unnecessary expense, and the poor cannot meet the cost of the Golden Solution, directed to be used with the Conductors. To obviate these difficulties, we will state, for the information of invalids, and we think we can convince the most skeptical, that, by omitting the use of the Golden Solution, and substituting the Solution mentioned below, we can safely insure the patient, under the sanction of the Faculty, of facts, and of daily experience, that the powerful sanative properties of the purest electricity may be imparted.." The broadside goes on to elaborate on the directions for use and argues the miraculous efficiency of the Conductors in treating various illnesses and conditions, including palsy, bronchitis, convulsions, spasms, cramps, croup, inflammation and soreness of the throat, fits of apoplexy and epilepsy, pleurisy, colic, inflammation of the peritoneum or bowels, stomach and liver, rheumatism, tooth-aches and various other aches and pains, deafness, blindness, tic douloureaux, neuralgia, diseases of the spine and heart, etc. etc. etc. Very good.
