Pitz's 10-1/2 inch high by 7-1/4 inch wide personalized Philadelphia letterhead signed "As ever / Henry" and dated December 19, 1973. Referring to his Howard Pyle book (Clarkson Potter, 1975) Pitz thanks Johnson: "You have been very good to me in your review and I appreciate it. He says that he might be involved in a film version of N.C Wyeth's life "but I have been busy painting since the Pyle book was finished..I seem to have reached the point where I would rather draw and paint than write. Perhaps it was always so and I am just waking up to it." The letters are accompanied with the original mailing envelopes and carbon copies if Johnson's letters to Pitz. Fine.
