Hardcovers, two volumes uniformly bound in gray cloth titled in gilt on the front covers and the spines. The covers of both volumes are rubbed and bumped with minor wear to the head & tail of the spine and a small tear to the top of the first volumes' front joint. 155 & [4] pages; and 223 & [4] pages, with profuse black & white illustrations (including many full-page) and tipped-in color plates. The hinges of both volumes are starting to crack and the front endpaper of the first volume has been excised. Good. From the library of Dr. Howard D. McKinney (d.1980), emeritus professor of music at Rutgers College, with his pictorial bookplate on the front pastedown of each volume. Dr. McKinney was an organist and a student of Nadia Boulanger in France. Good .
