The edges of the dust jacket are faintly creased. 384 pages. The front edge of the front pastedown is stained. Very good. First edition. Inscribed on Christmas, 1969 on the front endpaper and signed "Gene and Stanley". Stanley Herman was Gene Horowitz's lover. "At 24, Mr. Herman met Gene Horowitz, a teacher and writer, with whom he would live for 39 years." "'Love at first sight,' Mr. Herman says, recalling the meeting. 'The second I met him I knew it, knew it, knew it!
