Description: January 28. - Charles Grenfill Washburn's and H.R. Goodnow's autographs penned on a 2-1/8 inch high by 4-3/8 inch wide piece of paper clipped from a daily birthday book calendar with the date "January 28" printed in red along the top. Signed "C.G. Washburn" and "H.R. Goodnow" . Several lines from an inspirational poem are printed in black on the verso. Near fine.

The Worcester manufacturer, lawyer and author Charles Grenfill Washburn (1857-1928) served as a U.S. Congressman. He was married to the daughter of Horatio Nelson. He was a lifelong friend of Theodore Roosevelt and wrote a book about him.

The scientist H.R. Goodnow wrote on the Spectroscope. Fine .
