Softcover, 2 books consisting of a 24 page text volume bound in stapled self wraps and a plate volume consisting of 97 plates bound in printed cream wraps. These 2 volumes, together with a 4 page index, are laid into a mustard yellow cloth custom case titled in red and blue on its front cover with gilt designs on the front and an embossed design on the rear cover. There is minor foxing to the front cover of the text volume and to the fore edge of the plate volume. The cloth of the chemise has split along the front joint and is reinforced with archival linen tape from the verso. The total pagination consists of 24 & [8] pages, and 97 color & black and white plates. Very good.

A collection of images of Byzantine emperors (324-1453) housed in the National Historical Museum in Athens. The Greek historian Spyridon Lampros [or Lambros], 1851-1919, persuaded the museum to copy the images and they were published posthunously under his name.
