Hardcover, bound in cream boards titled in brown on the front cover and on the spine. The top edge is gilt. The covers are lightly soiled and the corners bumped. 40 deckle-edged pages. With the bookplate of Merton College, Oxford mounted on the front endpaper & the library's blue stamp on the versos of the front and rear endpapers. The contents are bright and near fine.

Number 19 of 110 numbered copies on handmade paper.

From the library of Humphrey and Mary Ward with their bookplate mounted on the front pastedown. Mary Augusta Ward (1851-1920) was an English novelist who wrote under her married name, Mrs. Humphry Ward. She was a leading figure in the Women's National Anti-Suffrage League. Her husband, Thomas Humphry Ward (1845-1926), was an English writer and journalist who wrote under the name Humphry Ward.

An ink notation on the front pastedown indicates that the book was given by A. B. Burney to the library of Merton College, Oxford in 1934. Good .
