Description: Marburg:Druckts Johann Georg Ebersbach, 1732 / Nurnberg: Joh. Andrea Endters, [1720]. [1720]. - Octavo, 6 inches high by 3-3/4 inches wide. Hardcover, bound in full early calf with brass clasps. The leather covers are rubbed and scuffed and the joints are split along the top and bottom with much of the spine peeling away. The first book by Neuberger is paginated as follows: Pages [1-20], 1-112, 111-254, 257-409 [1-7]; [1]-123, [1-5], page numbers 111-112 are repeated & page nubers 255-256 are skipped without any loss of text. Illustrated with a frontispiece, an engraved pictorial title, headpieces and tailpieces. The second work by Moller is paginated as follows: Pages [1]-94, illustrated with 3 pictorial tailpieces and a wood-engraved view of Jerusalem filling 1/3 of the page. The book has been tightly trimmed with occasional minor loss along the edges. However, there is loss to the imprint, including the date, of the second volume of the Neuberger. There is also loss of the date on the Moller imprint. The frontispiece and pictorial title are darkened and stained with some chipping to the edges and a small hole to the frontispiece. The hinges are cracked. David Shechner's 1831 New York University bookplate "New York University / Perstare et Praestare" illustrated with vignettes of the arts & sciences at the four corners is mounted on the front pastedown. A previous owner's name, Margaret H. Orwig, is penned above the bookplate on the pastedown and another early owner's annotation is penned on the front endpaper. There is occasional staining throughout and a tear to the top edge of page 32. Good.

A rare edition of the Neuberger German prayer book. There is a foreword by M. Paulus Steinius. The frontispiece illustrates one of the Psalms. The engraved title page is interesting in that it has the imprint of the Frankfurt printer Jost Henrich Dressers and is dated 1719. We have not been able to locate any examples of the book being published under this imprint.

Martin Moller's reflections on death are presented in question and answer form. They are followed by the recounting of the siege and destruction of Jerusalem.

The title page of the second part of the Neuberger prayer book includes the following title: " Joachimi Neanders geistreiche Bundes Lieder, und Danck-Psalmen". However, Neanders Psalms were not bound into this copy of the book. Fair .
