Description: Washington, D.C.: Committee on Political Education, AFL-CIO, 1968. 1968. - Quarto, 11 inches high by 8-1/2 inches wide. Softcover brochure. Issue number 10-68 of the May 13, 1968 4-page labor brochure "Memo from Cope", promoting the candidacy of Hubert Horatio Humphrey, nicknamed "3-H" by them. Penned in blue ink at the upper left is a bitter note by Spiro Agnew, then Governor of Maryland, addressed to his chief of staff Arthur J. Sohmer: "Art - Ask our labor friends why they're always able to go 'gung-ho' for some people but can't find a buck for others". Unsigned but penned in Agnew's hand. The brochure is folded for mailing with the mailing label addressed to "Hon S T Agnew" at the Governors Mansion, Annapolis, MD. There is minor soiling along the top edge of the brochure, else near fine.
The brochure lists George Meany as Chairman.
