A historic cemetery located in Philadelphia's Fairhill neighborhood, Fair Hill Burial Ground was founded by the Religious Society of Friends in 1703. The Hicksite Quaker community of Philadelphia revived the site in the 1840's after it had fallen into disuse. The Hicksite Quaker community played an important role in abolition and in the early women's rights movement and several significant individuals advocating for women are buried there including the American suffragist and first lady of Philadelphia Lucretia Longshore Blankenburg, abolitionist and women's rights activist Lucretia Mott, and the first woman dean of a US medical school Ann Preston.
