First used by the Waterford Society of Free Will Baptists, the Congregational Church of Blackstone in Massachusetts was built by the Blackstone Manufacturing Co. in 1836. The Greek-Revival style church was subsequently used by the Congregational church group in 1841 which later merged with the Baptists. The church is listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings.
The pamphlet is a history of the church from 1841 until 1877. Walker despairs of the fact that the size of the congregation was always quite small: "There are very few churches in New England, which have so few members in ratio to the surrounding Protestant population.."
