The edges of the covers are very lightly rubbed and the corners creased. The spine is slightly rolled with chipping to the tail of the spine and bumping to the head. 192 pages, profusely illustrated in color and black & white throughout. The corners of the pages are bumped with the top corners of several pages creased. Very good.

Among the contents is an essay titled "On the Dole" (page 54), identified in the index as "Unemployment in the U.S.". The article is illustrated in color from paintings by Richard Jansen and with black & white photographs, including one by Lewis W. Hine. An essay "The Drought: A Post-Mortem in Pictures" (page76) by Margaret Bourke-White is profusely illustrated with her photographs. An essay titled "Gibbs and Cox" by Wiliam Francis Gibbs (page 84) is illustrated in color and black & white It describes the work being done by the naval architects in producing their Bull Line Freighters and mentions that "they work intimately with the U.S. Navy". An essay on "Color in the Movies" (page 92), is illustrated in color as well as with black & white portraits. It also includes a diagram of Technicolor's new camera. Very good .
