There is a tiny tear to the front edges of the title and dedication pages. A previous owner's name has been embossed in blind on the front endpaper. Good.

First trade edition of the author's first book.

The brother of the painter Balthus and author of the controversial novel "Roberte Ce Soir", Pierre Klossowski was Andre Gide's secretary when he was only 18 years old.
