Description: Chicago, IL: January 27, 1933. 1933. - Over 55 words typed on 5-1/2 inch high by 8-1/4 inch wide Chicago Daily News letterhead. O'Brien writes to lecture circuit manager James B. Pond of the Pond Bureau and humorously announces: "..my speaking career is at an end. I feel better already." There is a corner crease and minor darkening to the edges of the paper. Very good.

Howard Vincent O'Brien (1888-1947) was an American novelist and columnist for the Chicago Daily News. He is best remembered for his autobiography "Wine, Women and War" which he published anonymously. He was a World War 1 veteran, and for many years he contributed his column "All Things Considered" to the Chicago Daily News". Very good .
