Description: October, 1886. 1886. - Anne Hartley Gilbert's autograph penned on 3-3/8 inch high by 4-1/2 inch wide card stock. Signed "Mrs. G.H. Gilbert" and dated "Oct. 1886" in light blue ink on card stock mounted onto a sheet of paper of the same size. There is offsetting to the edges and center of the card, including a light band across her signature. There are remnants of glue and paper on the verso of the paper mount. Very good.

Born at Rochdale in Lancashire, England Anne Hartley Gilbert (1821-1904) studied ballet under Paul Taglioni at Her Majesty's Theatre in the Haymarket. She moved to America after marrying the actor George H. Gilbert and performed in Chicago, Cleveland and Cincinnati before achieving success on Broadway. Very good .
