The bottom edge of the card is unevenly cut. Very good.
The author sends a signed quotation to a correspondent: "With W. Thornbury's compliments. / "O sunshine of the summer day / Chase shadows from my path away." / Walter Thornbury. / Dorking / March 13, 1871".
George Walter Thornbury [1828-1876] was an English author. He was the first biographer of J. M. W. Turner. He died young, his death said to be caused by overwork. Very good .
