Description: (Boston, MA): (1860). (1860). - Wood engraving, approximately 5-3/4 inches high by 9 inches wide, mounted on a sheet of cream stock, 7 inches high by 10-1/2 inches wide. The bottom edge of the mount is cut at a slant & there is a tiny stain to its top margin. Very good.
Titled "Sleighing Scene on Boston Neck", the engraving depicts gentlemen riding horse-drawn sleighs down a broad street lined with handsome buildings and leafless trees. They are being watched by a crowd bundled up in overcoats, cloaks, bonnets and tall hats. An excited dog races down the middle of the street to keep up with the horses. Very good .
