Second edition.
From the library of S. H. Gruber with his leather label mounted under the title on the front cover, his signature with the date July 18th, 1882 on the front endpaper and an additional signature on the flyleaf.
This work is dedicated to Sir Vincent L. Hurlbut, Grand Master of the United States. A note indicates that the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of the States of Wisconsin and Vermont have adopted the tactics and drill here set out.
The compilers write in their preface that their tactics can be easily understood by those unfamiliar with military terms but would meet with the approbation of military men.
