The one-page introduction by Paul Nizon is printed in the original German with a French translation.
The work of Laurent Wolf, an artist and sociologist, is centered on the use and creation of space in society in general, and in art in particular. Nizon writes that the subject of the paintings in this exhibition [works which he relates to constructivism and cubism] is the 'favelas' or slums of Rio which climb up the hillside like a "fortress" built of cubes piled on top of one another--"la question de urbanisation en son essence".
