Description: New York: 15 January, 1963. 1963. - Typed letter filling an 8-1/2 inch high by 5-1/2 inch wide sheet of Metropolitan Opera letterhead with Robinson's name printed at the top. Boldly signed "Francis Robinson". The top left corner of the letter is slightly creased. Near fine.

Robinson writes to Bruce Kellner of Hartwick College, Oneonta, NY, arranging a time when they can meet at the Met. "It will be a pleasure to talk to you about Mr. Van Vechten. Saturday is actually a better day for me than Friday because Friday we have a dress rehearsal of ADRIANA LECOUVREUR." Kellner was a Van Vechten scholar, the author of "Carl Van Vechten and the Irreverent Decades" [1968].

Francis Robinson [1910-1980] who was photographed by Carl Van Vechten, was the longtime assistant manager of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. He was nicknamed "Mr. Met". Very good .
