Description: New York: Evander Childs High School, 1921. 1921. - Large octavo [10-1/4 inches high by 6-3/4 inches wide], softcover bound in gray wraps titled and illustrated in red & black with an illustration of a couple ballroom dancing by H. Lamberti on the front cover. The binding is very lightly rubbed with some light creasing. The head & tail of the spine and the top corner of the rear cover are chipped. There is a tiny stain to each wrap. 72 pages, Black-and-white illustrations. The previous owner's name, Edith Mapledoram, is penned at the top of the first page. Very good.
A strikingly sophisticated magazine from the Evander Childs High School in the Bronx. The contents include poetry, prose and humor. In addition to the cover illustration by H. Lamberti, there is a frontispiece by M. De Santis and a cartoon by J. Thomason. These three contribute most of the illustrations and are also three of the five art editors of the magazine. The "Senior Section" includes vignette photo portraits of all the school's seniors with brief humorous comments on each. A list of "Class Celebrities" names best looking boy and girl, most popular boy and girl, class coquette, class athlete, etc.
