Bulletin of the Department of Geology and Natural History, Colgate University.
George Charles Embody [1876-1939] was best known for his research but was also an eminent teacher. Though his early interest was in the physical sciences, a love of the outdoors soon turned him towards biology and natural history. "Birds of Madison County" was one of his first publications. His investigations led him into many fields, including birds, Crustacea, the life history of fishes, fish diseases and nutrition, and a host of field and laboratory studies bearing on the problems of game-fish production.
