Harold Vinal [1891-1965] was a poet from Maine. Many of his poems are about the sea and about Vinalhaven where he was born. He founded and was the publisher and editor of the magazine "Voices: An Open Forum for the Poets".

William Ellery Leonard wrote numerous volumes of poetry over the course of his career. "Two Lives", for which he is best remembered, is a cycle of 250 sonnets telling the story of his tragic marrirage. Stepehn Vincent Benet called it the best American poem of the twentieth century. Very good .
