Jean-Marie Roland de la Platiere (1734-93). French revolutionary. Attacked Robespierre and Danton; tried to save the life of Louis XVI. He committed suicide upon learning of the execution of his wife.
The pamphlet regards disparaging remarks made by officers to Roland about the French army. LaFayette's 2-page defense of his troops is published on pages 14-15. Very good .
