The binding is rubbed; the covers are bumped & faded with a few small black stains on the front cover; the label on the spine is darkened with the left side out, slightly affecting the lettering. ix, [i] & 250 pp. plus 8-page publisher's catalogue with spare label tipped in on rear blank. There is scattered light foxing, occasional soiling & staining & a red stain to the rear endpaper. B&W frontispiece & 4 B&W plates. 1 plate is detached. Ex-library with library sticker with an ink cross through it on the front board & library label on rear pastedown. Despite its flaws, a good tight copy.

First edition.

An Autumn 1928 flier annoucing Methuen's new novels and popular novels is laid in. The bottom edge of the flier is torn & creased. Good .
