Program for a joint recital by Elisabeth Rethberg [her name is misspelt in the program] and Ezio Pinza given at Montclair High School Auditorium, Montclair, New Jersey on January 14th, 1938 as part of the 1937-38 season of the Unity Institute's Unity Concert Course.
The German soprano Elisabeth Rethberg [1894-1975] was an opera singer of international repute who was active from the time of the First World War through the early 1940s.
Ezio Pinza [1892-1957] was an Italian singer. A bass with a rich, smooth and sonorous voice, he spent 22 seasons at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, appearing in more than 750 performances of 50 operas. Very good .
