The first 10 pages of this pamphlet list the names and addresses of students, both women and men, attending the Western State Normal College in Farmington, Maine. Following this is general information about the school: "This Institution, established for the purpose of preparing teachers for the Common Schools of our State, went into operation August 24, 1864." Students who intend to teach in Maine receive free tuition but students who wish to teach in other states are also admitted. A general outline of the curriculum, which includes a wide range of scientific, literary and artistic studies is given in the rear along with the school's regulations.
