Fairchild Systems was a United States defense contractor. The San Francisco Chronicle described the company as "one of the legendary names of Silicon Valley" and noted that its Bay Area operations were a training ground for the engineers who went on to found Intel and other top semiconductor companies.
The authors write: "[This] experiment is designed to permit identification of distinguishing spectral, spatial and temporal features of the Earth by obtaining a multi-spectral image record from an aircraft at a resolution of 32 ft. / element, and 60 ft. / element from a satellite, using a solid state imaging system..".
Mounted on the front of the folder is the address label of Edward Willett who worked as an engineer at Fairchild Systems. Very good .
