Description: Paris: J. Techener, 1861. 1861. - Octavo, marbled brown boards backed with a brown morocco leather spine, titled & decorated in gilt with raised bands on the spine. The leather is rubbed and scuffed and the spine has faded to tan. xi, [i] & 372 pages, with decorative head and tail pieces and initials. There is scattered foxing throughout. A previous owner's name is penned at the top of the front blank and an early bookseller's label is mounted at the top of the front pastedown. Good.

The Adventures of Reynard the Fox and his accomplice Ysengrin. The tales are followed by Paulin Paris' new research into these allegorical fables about the perpetual trickster.
