This is a facsimile of one of 6 different medieval medical treatises published by Johannes de Ketham as part of his "Fasciculus Medicinae", considered the first illustrated medical work to appear in print.
The German physician Johannes de Ketham, is identified by many to be Johannes von Kirchheim, a physician practicing in Vienna in 1460. He is thought to have lived in Italy at the end of the fifteenth century. Ketham is remembered for producing the "Fasciculus Medicinae", published in Venice in 1491, a collection of short medical treatises. The book is considered to be the first printed book to contain anatomical illustrations. This facsimile is of one of these treatises with an illustration portraying the anatomy of a pregnant woman.
The text is in German. Very good .
