Richard Somerset, 2nd Baron Raglan [1817-1884] was a British peer who began his career as Private Secretary to Lieutenant General Sir Colin Campbell in Ceylon. He subsequently joined the Ceylon civil service and then was assistant government agent of Colombo. He left the island in 1849 to become the private secretary of George V of Hanover, the last king of Hanover and the father of King George III of Britain. From 1858-59 and 1866-69 he was a Lord-in-Waiting [a member of the Royal Household]. Good .
