Illustrated with 19 full-page reproductions of paintings in color and black & white by Zhu Qizhan with captions on the facing pages. Fine. Catalog of an exhibition shown at China 2000 Fine Art, New York City from May 13 to June 15, 2002. There is a brief introduction by Karen and Leon Wender. Laid in is an illustrated card advertising the exhibition. Zhu Qizhan [1892-1996] was a professor, dean of the Western Fine Art School of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts and an advisor to the Chinese Artists Association. He was banned from painting when the Cultural revolution began in 1966 and did not resume his work until 1976. He exhibited at the British Museum in London and at San Francisco's Asian Art Museum, and held fifteen exhibitions in New York. He was the only Chinese master artist to develop a relationship with a foreign art gallery. The Shanghai government built a museum in his name in 1995. Fine .
