Inez Haynes Irwin (1873-1970) was an American feminist author, journalist and political activist. She was described as a "rebellious and daring woman" but referred to herself as "the most timid of created beings". Irwin was a member of the National Advisory Council of the National Women's Party and wrote a biography of the party. She was also president of the Authors Guild. She married newspaper editor Rufus H. Gillmore, from whom she later separated, and many of her books, which included over thirty novels, were written under her former married name "Inez Haynes Gillmore". She was a close friend of the American feminist writer Mary MacLane. Very good .
