Description: New-York: Mahlon Day, 374 Pearl Street, 1837. 1837. - 16mo [5-1/2 inches high by 3-5/8 inches wide], softcover bound in printed green wrappers with the frontispiece & the last text page pasted to the wraps, as published. The front cover copy is printed within a triple decorative frame & there is a catalog of the publisher's school books on the rear cover. The binding is bumped & chipped with short tears & small pieces out. The bottom two inches of the wraps are detached. 23 & [1] pages, including the wraps. Illustrated with black-and-white woodcuts, including a frontispiece, a title vignette & 10 woodcuts in the text. Some of the illustrations have been hand colored, probably by an early owner. An owner's faded name is written at the top of the frontispiece. The page corners are heavily creased. There is light creasing to the pages throughout. Fair.
