Title: Autograph Note Signed by William Cusins.
Description: 33 Nottingham Place, W. February 28th, 1881. 1881. - Octavo. A few words sending his autograph penned on a cream sheet of his personalized letterhead, 7-1/8 inches high by 4-1/2 inches wide. The letterhead is bordered in black. Signed "Yours very sincerely / W. G. Cusins." There is some very light foxing & soiling to the letterhead & scraps of gray paper adhere to the verso where the letter has been removed from an album. Folded once for mailing. Very good.

Sir William George Cusins [1833-1893] was an English pianist, violinist, organist, conductor and composer. He toured widely in England and Europe as a concert pianist and composer. He also played the violin in various London orchestras. In 1851 he succeeded Sterndale Bennett as conductor of the Philharmonic Society and remained in that post until 1883. He was appointed organist to Queen Victoria's private chapel and in 1870 was made Master of the Queen's Musick. He was knighted in 1892. Very good .
