Description: Woodstock, NY: circa [1965]. [1965]. - Three words boldly scrawled in red ink on a sheet of his personalized letterhead. Undated. Signed "Anton". The letter head is bumped with some creasing to the edges & corners. There is a small rust mark to the left margin. Good.

A brief message, "Sorry for the delay", to the editor of "American Artist" Norman Kent.

Anton Refregier [1905-1979] was a painter and muralist active in Works Progress Administration Federal Art Project commissions and in teaching art. He was a Russian immigrant to the United States. One of his best known works is his mural "The History of California", painted from 1940-1948 and located in the Rincon Center in downtown San Francisco, California. It depicts the history of the state across twenty-seven panels.

Norman Kent [1903-1972] was an American artist and art educator known for his woodcuts and watercolor landscapes. He served as the editor of American Artist magazine for more than twenty-five years. Good .
