The spine & the adjacent edges of of the wraps are faded. There are a few very light stains to the lower half of the spine. 228 pages. The pastedowns have separated from the inside wraps. There is a light stain to the fore-edge. Illustrated with numerous samples of type faces. The contents are bright & very good.

Carl Purington Rollins explains in his preface that in order to produce a readable specimen book, the "copy" selected for displaying the various type faces is reprinted, with the author's permission, from articles on printing and literary subjects contributed by Harry Lyman Koopman, Librarian of Brown University, to various printers' magazines.
