Title: A Literary Enigma. The Canadian Boat Song: Its Authorship and Associations.
Description: Stirling, Scotland: Eneas Mackay, (1935). (1935). - Octavo, grayish blue boards backed with cream parchment in a dust wrapper. The top corner of the front board is rubbed & bumped & the parchment is lightly foxed. The top of the dust jacket folds & the head of its spine are chipped. There is light staining to the front panel & foxing to the rear panels & folds. The jacket spine is faded. 109 pages. Illustrated with a black-and-white facsimile frontispiece. The pastedowns & endpapers are foxed with light offsetting to the endpapers, else the contents are very good.

First edition.

Inscribed by the author to George Grant MacCurdy on the front endpaper and dated 12th January 1942. Anthropologist George MacCurdy [1863-1947] formed the Anthropology Division of the Peabody Museum in 1902, while an instructor at Yale. He later became a professor of prehistoric archeology at Yale. He was Vice President of the Archeological Institute of Anthropology and a Trustee of the Laboratory of Anthropology. Very good .
