Jacques Chantier [Jean-Claude Piguet; 1924-1979] was born in the Jura. In 1948 he moved to Paris where his work "Le train" [1949], a nihilistic surreal tale, brought him some notoriety. After publishing "Les gitans" [1955] and writing a play, "La nuit du carnaval", nothing more was heard from him for twenty years until a book of thirty-six poems, "La vie au vent", was published by Les Editions du Grand-Pont in 1976. He died in Lausanne in 1979. Fine .
