Luther Burbank [1849-1926] was influenced by Darwin and became a market gardener in Santa Rosa, Calif. where he conducted plant breeding experiments for fifty years and produced many better varieties of cultivated plants.

This pamphlet is the seventh of a proposed series of fifteen monographs aiming "to create a general interest in agriculture, horticulture, and floriculture with instructions to make it possible for everybody to grow his or her own fruits, flowers, and vegetables." The contents include charts showing the best months to plant seeds in different areas of the U.S. Good .
