The binding is slightly rubbed & bumped. 47 & [1] pages. Illlustrated in color with full-page illustrations & plates, including a folding plate. Near fine. Catalog for an exhibition which ran at Galerie Tamenaga in New York from October 11 to November 5, 1991. There is an inscription in Japanese on the front endpaper. An illustrated brochure advertising the exhibition is laid in. Hiroshi Asada was born in Kyoto in 1931. Though he came from a family of "'nihonga" [Japanese-style] painters, he enrolled in an economics course and when he took up painting in his spare time and began exhibiting in 1954, he was influenced by western art, including the European Art Informel movement. The dreamlike, surrealistic landscapes shown in New York were characteristic of his later style. Asada committed suicide in 1997. Rare. WorldCat locates only three copies. Very good .
